I just talked to a buddy that went out last weekend. They actually got 2 29" gag grouper off the hovercraft 
. You have to love spearing this time of year... decent fish, barely outside the pass..... just gotta be able to handle the chill. Oh yeah, you can go to the ramp at 10am on saturday morning and not have to wait in line or even share the public numbers with anyone else.
If anyone wants to come shoot some fresh grouper sandwiches this is the time of year to get it done with minimum gas or even good stalking techniques.
